Kober childcare is participating in the Roosendaal FIT week, are you coming too?

February 28

Roosendaal FIT Week takes place from March 18th to 22nd. A fun-filled week where young and old alike can enjoy exercise, healthy food, and fun activities together. The goal: a resilient Roosendaal with a healthy lifestyle for everyone! Kober wants children to have every opportunity in life, including a healthy start. That's why Kober Childcare has been a partner of Roosendaal FIT (RSD FIT) since 2013.

A healthy foundation for all children

Angelique de Jong, administrative assistant, took over the initiative from Kober and organizes the FIT week activities together with the municipality and other partners. "Health is simply important. If you teach children a healthy balance, both physically and mentally, from a young age, it has such a positive effect on the rest of their lives. You also see children blossom through sports and play. Everyone is equal in play, children learn to feel comfortable in their environment and become more self-confident."

Participate in the Roosendaal FIT week

There are plenty of activities during FIT Week. Fancy some exercise bingo, the Play Forest Adventure, the water challenge, or the Sports and Culture Fair? Kober childcare in Roosendaal is ready for it. Angelique: "At Kober, we make conscious choices about food and drinks all year round. We go outside every day and give children the opportunity to get plenty of exercise. During FIT Week, we'll be participating in exercise bingo with all the children from the 27 Kober locations, and we'll be drinking water instead of juice all day during the water challenge. The big day is Wednesday, March 20th: the Sports and Culture Fair at the Atik Stadium. Children aged 4 to 12 can participate in 20 different sports and cultural activities that day. Kober will be there with a course for children aged 4, 5, or 6. Of course, we'll be joining various after-school care centers at the Sports and Culture Fair that day." If you're not at after-school care that day, you're welcome to come with your mom, dad, or grandma and grandpa. Everyone is welcome to participate in FIT week!

Young and old connect all year round

"With Roosendaal FIT (RSD FIT), we encourage people of all ages to get fit all year round," says Angelique. "We organize activities that promote healthy eating, exercise, and mental fitness. RSD FIT used to be known as JOGG, meaning healthy weight youth. Now, RSD FIT is specifically for young and old, because exercising and participating in society is healthy for everyone. Recently, Kober's toddlers visited elderly people with dementia at the Beatrixhuis in Roosendaal. The atmosphere was so festive; accompanied by a guitarist, they sang songs together. The children and the elderly loved it! So, we do more than just organize a single FIT week. We connect young and old to stay physically and mentally healthy, and that really makes a difference for society; living together happily and healthily."

Active together for health

RSD FIT is an initiative of the municipality of Roosendaal. Kober childcare is one of the partners, along with GGD, Wij zijn Traverse, Social KLus, Groenhuysen, and Cultuurcompaan, among others. All these organizations are participating in Roosendaal FIT Week, and you can also find them at the Sports and Culture Fair at the ATIK Stadium on Wednesday, March 20th. Will you join us? It's free, because we want everyone to be able to participate in sports and play that day! Want to know more about Roosendaal Fit Week? https://rsdfit.nl/
