What is toddler care or playgroup?
Our toddler care, formerly known as a playgroup, is for children aged approximately 2 to 4 years. It is a place where your toddler can learn and grow through play with peers, under the guidance of our pedagogical professionals. We focus specifically on the group development of the toddlers and preparation for primary school. In the toddler group, children learn to interact with children of their own age through various activities. Toddlers can attend our toddler care in half-day sessions: in the morning or in the afternoon.
Preschool and Early Childhood Education (VVE)
The preschool is for children aged 2 to 2,5 years who have a (language) delay and have received a referral from the Child Health Clinic. Kober Kinderopvang has places available for preschool (VVE) at many of our daycare and toddler care locations. Our specially trained VVE professionals work with the children on language, arithmetic, motor skills, and social-emotional development in a playful manner and in small groups.

A look at our toddler daycare
At our toddler care, there is something new to discover every day. Here, toddlers play, learn, and move in atmospheric spaces with stimulating corners, such as the building, dress-up, and discovery corners. We read picture books, sing songs, and make music with our own creations. In this way, we playfully stimulate language, numbers, colors, and shapes. Curious? Layout & facilities of our toddler daycare
We believe it is important that the toddler care is designed so that children can develop in a challenging and well-thought-out environment. There is a concept behind everything. Indoors, toddlers play in various corners, such as a playhouse corner, building corner, and art studio, which tie in with a theme, such as a flower shop or restaurant. There is a wide range of toys and creative materials available, from musical instruments to picture books and puzzles. Outside, too, there is plenty of room to play and explore, with lovely outdoor spaces and nature gardens where toddlers stimulate their senses together.

A challenging environment, in which children follow their curiosity and develop optimally. A thoughtfully designed space stimulates play, discovery, and social interaction.
We offer toys and materials that suit all developmental stages of the children, such as musical instruments, picture books, or LEGO.
Green is good for you, research shows. That is why all our children go outside every day to play in the grass, bake sand pies, or build huts.
We are going for a green, playful base, using organic forms and natural materials. An outdoor space that stimulates the senses and invites you to engage in all kinds of activities.
Difference between playgroup and childcare
We understand that the various terms and services in childcare can sometimes be confusing, especially since toddler care and daycare overlap in age. However, they are two different forms of care. That is why we are happy to explain the difference. Toddler care (formerly toddler playgroup) is intended for children aged 2 to 4. The focus here is on learning through play, with some preparation for primary school. Children attend for fixed half-days in the morning or afternoon, and we follow the school rhythm. Daycare is for children aged 0 to 4. Here, you can opt for flexible care: half-days or full days. We combine care with attention to development, aligning with the rhythm of each child.
Costs and childcare allowance
For toddler care, you are eligible for childcare allowance from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. If one of your parents is unemployed, you are eligible for your municipality's childcare allowance. Childcare rates for toddler care vary by municipality.
